California’s building codes are published in their entirety every three years. Intervening Code Adoption Cycles produce Supplement pages every 18 months. 2016 Title 24 Codes went into effect January 1st 2017, this seminar will provide an overview of changes to expect in title 24 Energy Code, ADA per CBC, Fire Code and CalGreen for Tenant Improvement and Renovation projects. Through case study and panel discussion, you will gain a general knowledge of 2016 CODE cycle update as it relates to the (E) Building Renovation and TI world and learn what’s involved in getting the job from concept to post occupancy in the new code cycle.

Barry is an experienced environmental professional specializing in policies and programs to improve building performance. He is responsible for Managing implementation of San Francisco’s building performance labeling and energy audit requirements for commercial buildings. He is also the department lead for Green Building code for new construction, providing technical and outreach support to SF Dept of Building Inspection.

John has 35 years’ experience in property management and engineering. He has managed a variety of properties including high rise commercial, computer centers, hospital/healthcare, high-tech manufacturing and retail. John is active in several professional organizations including BOMA, Association of Energy Engineers, National Fire Protection Association and Refrigeration Service Engineers Society.

Since entering the field in 2000, Lyn has gained experience in the industrial, commercial, municipal, microelectronics, telecommunications, wastewater, and water industries. She has a combined experience of 16 years in HVAC design, construction, and startup, making her uniquely qualified as a commissioning agent. From her design experience, she is able to provide insightful comments and establish a collaborative approach in design reviews. She has also written system-level O&M Manuals and trained plant staff. Design experience includes ductwork and piping layout; heat load calculations; HVAC design for water and wastewater treatment plants, office spaces, schools, libraries, data centers, and clean rooms; sizing and selection of mechanical equipment; pressure drop calculations for ductwork and piping; code review; creation of specifications; control strategy design; and alternative energy systems financial analysis.
ADA & Accessibility Standards – Hafsa Burt, AIA, LEED AP, WELL AP
Hafsa brings 18 years of experience in the field of Architecture particularly focused on Green Building. She serves on the Council of Experts at USGBC’s California Chapter on Indoor Air Quality and serves on both AIA California’s Committee on the Environment and USGBC State, focusing on legislative decisions affecting Environmental Sustainability. Her project experience includes Commercial, Institutional, Industrial and mixed-use realms in project size ranging from 2000 square feet to over 2 million square feet and project types ranging from tenant improvements to San Francisco airport.
